When:
4:45 p.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2012
Where:
The Henry, Fairlane Plaza, 300 Town Center Drive, Dearborn, MI 48126
More:
EB, a leading developer of cutting-edge embedded technology solutions for the automotive and wireless industries, is developing next-generation navigation systems with a variety of new driver-assistance features.
Dr. Holve will discuss the company’s latest advancements in advanced traffic technologies, “smart” navigation and driver-assistance systems.
Navigation systems today are intended to bring drivers to their destinations as smoothly and safely as possible. But this is just the beginning. Additional details about the driving environment and suggested routes can provide car owners with “valuable” new information as well. New safety functions to avoid accidents also are being developed. Nearly one-fourth of all traffic accidents involving personal injury are due to inappropriate speed, improper street use or passing maneuvers. Many crashes could be avoided if drivers were warned of tight curves or had lane-change information.
