Navigation On-board – Fiat Blue&Me

The Company

The Challenge

In 2005 Fiat planned the follow-up system of Blue&Me™ that should consist of an on-board navigation solution and voice control on the basis of Windows Mobile for Automotive, including a Bluetooth hands-free car kit for mobile phones with voice control, MP3 and WMA supported music features as well as an SMS-reader.

The Solution

EB supplied the navigation software for the new Blue&Me™ Nav including an SOS functionality. The turn-by-turn navigation can be controlled by speech recognition or manually by steering wheel buttons. The map data is stored on a USB flash drive.

The Benefit

EB was able to supply a navigation Core SDK and application that could easily be integrated into the Blue&Me™ infotainment system. It was successfully launched in March 2007 at the International Motor Show in Geneva where it inspired both trade visitors and press.
